This position is based in Smyrna, Tennessee, supporting multiple automotive customers throughout the region, including Nissan, GM, Ford, Adient, Nissan Trading Corporation, and Stellantis. The operation manages a large transportation network and plays a critical role in ensuring freight is delivered safely, efficiently, and on time to support customer production requirements.
Shift Available
3rd Shift | Six-Day Operation
- Sunday Night through Friday Morning
- 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM CST
- Friday nights required when customer production is running
- Position participates in the attendance bonus program, which typically includes two weekends per month
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily route activity to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal operational teams during the overnight shift.
- Monitor route performance and address service issues, delays, and customer concerns.
- Support end-of-shift activities for approximately 15 drivers and coordinate the startup of roughly 30 routes for the following day.
- Communicate load status, route changes, and operational updates to drivers and customer representatives.
- Investigate transportation issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and transportation documentation.
- Monitor performance metrics and ensure customer service expectations are met.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
- Coach and support drivers while addressing operational, attendance, and performance concerns.
- Collaborate with dispatch, leadership, and customer teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Make sound operational decisions independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in transportation, dispatch, logistics, warehousing, or distribution.
- Previous dispatch experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a large driver population.
- Dependable attendance and flexibility to support a six-day operation.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
