PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a per diem Certified Peer Specialist to join our team.

The Certified Peer Specialist provides quality direct patient care to individuals with behavioral/mental health illnesses and chemical dependency disorders. Primary responsibilities include group and individual education, provide ongoing peer support, teach and promote self-advocacy and recovery based/trauma informed principles, function as an integral member of treatment team.

• Bachelors required, Masters preferred in clincial studies. Must be a Certified Peer Specialist through the Department of Behavioral Health
• Must have knowledge of developmental psychology and needs of various patient populations (age, diagnosis, etc.)
• Must have the ability to maintain professional relationships and boundaries with patients, patient's family members, staff and community members.
