What You'll Do
As a Peer Specialist, you will:
- Provide peer support services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions.
- Use lived experience to encourage hope, recovery, and resilience.
- Assist clients in developing coping skills, wellness strategies, and recovery goals.
- Facilitate peer-led recovery and support groups.
- Support individuals in achieving goals related to housing, employment, education, and community integration.
- Assist with the development and implementation of person-centered treatment plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborative care planning.
- Advocate for individuals receiving services and support their self-determination.
- Help clients prepare for recovery planning meetings and communicate their needs and preferences.
- Educate team members on recovery-oriented care and peer support principles.
- Conduct outreach and provide ongoing engagement and support.
- Provide crisis intervention services as scheduled.
- Assist with assessments, wellness plans, and recovery-focused documentation.

QualificationsRequired
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Certification
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
Preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with underserved populations
- Previous experience providing peer support services
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Schedule based on program and client needs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
