The Admissions Specialist performs psychosocial screening and evaluations of all patients, voluntary and involuntary, who present to the facility with a primary psychiatric or behavioral complaint. Provides accurate evaluation of medical necessity, offering alternative levels of care when feasible. Initiates a collection and assessment of information for payers; completes pre-certification and continued stay authorization. Works with and serves as back-up to utilization review.

Palm Point Behavioral Health is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital is located in Titusville, Florida minutes from Cape Canaveral. Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children and adolescents that suffer from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including, depression, anxiety and substance abuse in a modern and well-appointed facility. Palm Point behavioral health offers inpatient treatment options and serve communities in Brevard County and beyond. Titusville, located on Florida's Space Coast, is approximately 30-miles north of historic Cocoa Beach, and 40-miles east of Orlando's famous theme parks. In Titusville, you can tour the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore. Education: Master's Degree from an accredited school in the Behavioral Sciences.
Licensure/Certification: LCSW,LMHC,LMFT preferred. BLS required or obtained prior to direct patient care.
Experience: Two (2) years in the Mental Health field preferably in Intake/Triage/Admissions area.
