Description
Job Specifications:
- Strong knowledge of relevant software, QA methods/ tools, and manufacturing process
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and interpretation of outputs
- Strong math and GD&T understanding necessary
- Effective at organizing information and clear communication to cross functional team
- Must have prioritization skills, capable of critical thinking and logical problem solving
- Comfortable in team/ social environment, asking and answering critical questions
- Understanding of CNC programming & machining processes preferred
- Ownership of work areas and/or programs as designated by QM.
- Work with quality team members, quality manager, and other departments to monitor production, initiate continuous improvement and participate in problem solving activities.
- Provide input for new gage/ fixture designs relative to GD&T and CMM accessibility
- Creation, testing, and maintaining inspection programs that operate and control CMM machines in accordance with production standards. (Manual and DCC machines, CMM Manager software).
- Quality inspection checks 1st piece, hourly, final, last piece, backward recall on non-conforming product and implementing non-conforming product hold tags.
- Gauge Calibration/ Gage R&R
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Document testing and root cause analysis for internal or external problems.
- Create Work instructions, provide feedback, and review issues with QM/ME to address the issue.
- Support Supplier Quality, via inspection, reporting, and corrective action, as required
- Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards.
- Other responsibilities may be added or assumed based on necessity
- Participate in continued education courses as required for new projects and career growth within XL. TQM/CQT/CQE preferred career track.
- Associate Degree or equivalent years of experience with thorough understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
- Knowledge of CMM software, ability to mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on CMM machine using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Use of measurement devices and calibration experience with various gages, tools and different methods of calibration
- CNC machine shop experience a plus
- ISO and IATF experience a plus
- PPAP documentation experience a plus
