Responsibilities
The Unit Supervisor:
- Provides leadership as part of the unit management team.
- Coordinates unit management activities in conjunction with the manager/director.
- Facilitates staff development within the unit in collaboration with the manager/director.
- Implements the day-to-day operational plan of the unit under the direction of the manager/director.
- Serves as a resource to other health team members on the assigned unit.
- Collaborates with other departments to promote cost-effective health care.
- May serve patients across the lifespan, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Assumes patient care assignments based on unit needs.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program.
- Baccalaureate degree preferred.
- Current Iowa RN license required.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience preferred, with recognized knowledge and expertise in caring for a specific patient population.
