Leads the collection, validation, analysis, and submission of clinical data for national registries and quality reporting programs. Serves as a resource on clinical measures and registry participation, translating reports and benchmarks into actionable insights for clinicians, physicians, and administrators. Queries databases to produce accurate performance summaries, identifies trends and opportunities, and communicates results to stakeholders. Partners in multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives, using evidence and data to inform practice changes and enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Works with IT, physician experts, and other staff to coordinate development, implementation, and ongoing management of NCDR and other clinical registries and measures
- Accurately abstracts, cleans, validates, and submits data to meet regulatory and program requirements within established timelines
- Responds to requests for information including clinical interpretation of data element definitions, submission processes, data quality, and comparative reporting
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures for data abstraction, validation, and submission
- Serves as the primary contact for registry operations and site administration
- Administers registry platforms, including user access and site profiles, and maintains current knowledge of specifications and updates
- Assembles and distributes routine and ad hoc reports from registries and local databases
- Interprets comparative institutional outcomes and performance
- Provides feedback to physicians, management, and staff on measures, trends, and opportunities for improvement
- Acts as a resource on report interpretation
- Develop materials and presents findings to quality improvement committees and administrative teams
- Organizes regular communications on results and initiatives
- Participates in committees and multidisciplinary teams to analyze contributing factors and recommend documentation or practice changes
- Prepares and delivers education and training to support accurate data collection and interpretation
- Validates Hospital-Acquired Conditions and Patient Safety Indicator Composite measures and collaborates with physicians on Present on Admission documentation prior to billing
- Works with Coding and Clinical Documentation Improvement to query providers and update coding to ensure data accuracy and alignment with specifications
- Ensures external benchmarking submissions contain complete and accurate demographic and provider information
- Identifies and corrects data integrity issues
Education:
- Completion of an accredited RN nursing program, BSN preferred.
- Healthcare experience with previous experience in nursing or data management.
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting experience preferred.
- Valid Iowa RN license
