UnityPoint Health is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our team! This position is responsible for operationalizing the vision and strategy of the Supply Chain Department on multiple sites. This includes project coordination, planning, and day to day administration of the Supply Chain staff responsible for the receiving, distribution and overall inventory management of supplies within the organization while concurrently facilitating efficient and cost-effective operations to meet current and future business needs of the organization related to supply chain.
Location: Des Moines, IA - Methodist Hospital
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Responsibilities
Operational & Staff Management
- Lead the Supply Chain team in managing the day-to-day activities to support the receiving, distribution and inventory management functions.
- Provide overall prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources, and their activities.
- Responsible for the recruiting, training, coaching, team building and succession planning.
- Prepare and participate in the preparation of staff development plans for each staff member.
- Assess the skills and skill levels necessary to achieve Supply Chain work objectives.
- Accountable for engagement and performance enablement of the Supply Chain team
- Performs performance evaluations for staff. Creates an environment for staff growth, development, career planning, productivity and satisfaction by conducting staff meetings and one-on-one meetings at least monthly with all direct reports.
- Establish effective mechanisms of communication with staff and the management team to foster an environment of openness, trust, teamwork and staff development.
- Leads and develops Supervisor(s) and Team Lead(s) across multiple sites to ensure consistent leadership and Supply Chain management.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with Supply Chain constituents, including local / regional (primary focus on Patient Care departments) and System Service (Central Procurement/Contracting/Value Analysis).
- Serve as an interface between internal/external customers and the functional team members to ensure effective delivery of Supply Chain services.
- Promote proactive approaches to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the Supply Chain operation.
- Assist with the planning, budgeting and forecasting of Supply Chain needs.
- Consults with business stakeholders to understand both the day to day reporting and long term analytics needs for the organization around its supply data.
- Responsible for researching industry best practices and leverages both internal resources and external vendors to drive results via data.
Education
- Associates Degree or courses leading to a Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or Business required
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or Business
- 5 years relevant experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Control required
- 10 years experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Control preferred
- Proficient with business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Previous supervisory/managerial experience
- Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
- CRMP (Certified Materials Resource Professional) preferred
