What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Grounds Worker position at UNITY SCHOOL OF CHRISTIANITY?
Position Summary: Manage and direct all landscape operations and employee support.
Essential Job Functions:
- Hire, train and develop landscape staff. Prioritize daily tasks for staff. Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary action.
- Operate mowing equipment and hand-held tools. Operate heavy or specialized equipment. Install and maintain manual and automatic irrigation systems.
- With support from Manager, prepare annual budget and maintain monthly expenses.
- Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
- Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Work alternative hours (weekends and holidays) as necessary.
- Snow removal duties
- Determine necessary purchases for repair parts and job materials.
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent.
- Landscape Certification or Bachelor’s Degree in horticulture or landscape design preferred.
Experience:
- Two years supervisory experience.
- Three years landscape experience, preferably on a large campus or acreage.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain a consistent volume of work order requests.
- Former budget planning experience.
Computer Skills: Basic end-user Windows based PC experience.
Certificates & Licenses: Pesticide Applicator Certification or willing to obtain in a specified period of time.
Missouri Chauffeurs License
