Job Description
Salary: $17.50 per hour - 2nd and 3rd shift available.
Looking for a DSP with a strong personality to work with a 28-year-old male in his own home In Dayton. Client will need staff to transport him in a company-provided vehicle to his heart doctor in Columbus at least 4 times a year. This client needs assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs). This will include meal preparation, laundry, cleaning of the home, and regular checks on him throughout the night to make sure he stays safe. This is a behavioral case with a high-behavior individual that is compulsively food-driven.
Summary
As a Direct Support Professional at Unity Care Group LLC, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily activities. This position is essential in fostering independence and enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and care plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain client confidentiality.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health status to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with families and other caregivers to create a supportive environment.
- Manage the client's behaviors with care and redirection to the best of ability.
- Follow all rules, procedures and routines to ensure the clients wellbeing and safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR/first aid preferred.
- At least 2 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- At least 1 year experience in working with individuals with high behavioral needs
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record (no more than 4 points)
