Quality Assurance Coordinator
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the agency’s Quality Management, Risk Management, and Regulatory Compliance functions. This position ensures adherence to internal policies, licensing standards, and regulatory requirements through monitoring, reporting, training coordination, audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives across all agency locations.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Medication Error Oversight
- Review General Event Reports (GERs) for documented medication errors
- Notify staff, nurses, and supervisors of medication errors via SCOMM
- Maintain and update the medication error roster
- Track and follow up on required medication-related training
- Compile and document monthly medication error rates for all agency locations
- Schedule, coordinate, and maintain a calendar for monthly medication error training sessions
Incident Review & Quality Monitoring (T-Logs / GERs)
- Review T-Logs and GERs for quality
- Identify trends requiring corrective action or training
- Notify staff and supervisors of deficiencies
- Maintain training rosters and follow up to ensure completion
Licensing & Regulatory Compliance
- Notify teams of upcoming licensing reviews and inspections
- Conduct QA oversight at physical locations
- Review documentation for regulatory compliance
- Coordinate and upload required documentation to the auditor portal
Critical Incident Management Office of Intellectual and Development Disabilities (OIDD)
- Complete initial critical incident reports, final reports and addendums
- Assist with Abuse and Neglect Exploitation (ANE) reports/reviews
- Communicate recommendations to supervisors and Human Resources
- Monitor follow-up actions and training requirements
Risk Management & Quality Analytics
- Collect and analyze monthly and quarterly quality and risk metrics
- Prepare and maintain quality dashboards
- Schedule and manage quarterly Risk Management meetings
- Develop and track corrective action plans
Surveys, Audits & Assessments
- Conduct participant satisfaction surveys
- Ensure employee surveys are implemented and reviewed
- Coordinate Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM), Center for Medicaid (CMS) &Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) audits
- Prepare and participate in National Core Indicator (NCI) surveys
- Complete the Annual Agency TB Risk Assessment
Training, Committees & Communication
- Coordinate monthly Rights and Abuse training
- Develop and present monthly safety topics
- Head the Human Rights Committee
- Coordinate Fire Marshal inspections and follow up on findings
- Prepare and distribute Splash messages
Additional Duties
- Complete ongoing training as required
- Follow agency transportation and safety protocols
- Perform related duties as assigned to support the agency’s mission and operational needs
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, stoop, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Fine and gross motor coordination for computer use, filing, and training setup
Performance Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficient written and verbal English communication
- Ability to follow direction and work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology systems and software as needed
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in data analysis, and reporting
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Healthcare, Human Services, Business, or a related field
License/Certificate
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s License and acceptable driving record required
