Job Summary:
All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner. This position works under the direction supervision and training of the Data Entry Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data Entry of patient demographics, insurance information, tests, and diagnosis in the Softatcis billing system.
- Understand the distribution of requisitions from each program.
- Alert Supervisor of any abnormalities in system or with requisitions.
- Attach proper stickers to requisitions when returning unbillables to the programs.
- Correct unbillables returned from programs daily.
- Work assigned temporary reports and turn in to supervisor daily.
- Work all correction returned by Supervisor within 24 hours.
- After 90 day probationary period, be able to enter an average of 500 tests daily with an error rate of 5% or less.
- Within six (6) months test count must be at 600 and be maintain with minimal error rate.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Be able to print lab results in Labtest(LifePoint) if necessary
- Understand temporary file in DataFlex.
- Understand edit reports in Seacoast
- Working overtime as needed
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge and aptitude for basic computer skills
- Knowledge of different payer types
- Knowledge of lab tests
- Knowledge of CPT codes
- Knowledge of ICD-9 codes
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of basic filing skills both alpha and numeric
- Knowledge of Dataflex and Seacoast Software
- Organization and problem solving skills
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions in work environment
- Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as a team player
Physical Requirements:
- Continuous sitting (up to 8 hrs/day)
- Continuous walking (up to 8 hrs/day)
- Intermittent bending
- Simple grasping with both hands
- Continuous typing
- Occasional lifting of storage files and boxes.
