Non-Exempt, Hourly Rate: $15.00 to $17.00

Job Description:
A successful Maintenance Production Specialist 2 (MPS2) is responsible for landscape maintenance and completion of enhancement projects under the direction of a Crew Leader (CL) or an Assistant Crew Leader (ACL). The MPS2 is detail-oriented and can operate a variety of machinery, tools, and equipment to carry out specified job tasks. The MPS2 has in-depth working knowledge of horticulture practices. The MPS2 is self-driven, self-discipline, responsible, professional, and committed to the team’s success. This position is intended for continuous development and upward mobility within the company. This position will also perform all other duties as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Efficiently complete landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, fertilizer application, weed control, aeration, trimming and pruning, with focus on quality and productivity
- Carry out landscape enhancement projects such as tree, plant and flower installation, mulch application, topsoil application and lawn seeding
- Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to commercial mower, line trimmer, edger, blower, hedge trimmers and hand tools
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned vehicle, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop areas
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning daily
- Complete UVETS’ training, certification tracks (CT) that heighten forward mobility
Required Skills/Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of standard horticultural practices, including but not limited to planting, pruning and fertilization
- Demonstrate competency in specific equipment, methods, tools, and techniques required to complete assigned tasks in a safe and professional manner
- High attention to detail in technical specifications when assessing maintenance tasks and enhancement projects
- Demonstrate initiative in meeting task-based goals and budget
- Demonstrate UVETS’ GWC - “Get it, Want it, and Capacity to do it” attitude
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
- Capacity to embrace technology driven applications as part of daily activities
- Highly disciplined, energetic, self-starter, and demonstrates a positive attitude
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Physical Requirements:
- Employee is required to stand, walk, crouch, stoop and/or kneel; employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
- May be exposed to hazardous material, loud noise, and/or extreme heat/cold temperatures
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- At least three years of industry related experience required; military experience may be substituted to meet position requirements
