Job Summary:
As a Magnetic Service Technician, you will provide UTSS Customers with timely and accurate equipment troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, service, preventative maintenance, calibration, and installation services. At UTSS we work on MRIs, Metal Detectors, and Magnetic Separation equipment, spanning all industries and geographic locations. This position will require travel nationwide as customer demands require. Magnetic Service Technicians will work primarily as part of a 2 to 4-person team to perform MRI Coil Swaps, MRI Upgrades, and independently to perform magnetic and detector validations. This position requires employees to be on-call and available to Travel to project site within 24 hours (typical response time is usually 48 to 72 hours). Technicians may receive OEM and/or UTSS provided training and you will learn the ins and outs of magnetism as it relates to healthcare and industrial practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Responds within required response times to Customer Service Calls, Requests for Repair, and Technical Support *
· Installs, Upgrades, Calibrates, and Commissions customer equipment including imaging, detection, and diagnostic equipment *
· Completes routine repairs and preventative maintenance checks *
· Completes all customer, regulatory, and statutory documentation as required *
· Attends all required trainings, certification programs, and vendor credentialling required to be customer sites *
· Follows all federal, state, and local regulations regarding x-ray radiation, exposure, calibration requirements, and safety requirements. *
· Abides by OSHA Safety Regulations at all times. *
· Completes all required tooling inventory, maintenance, and tracking requirements *
· Documents and reports of all relevant information pertaining to installation and calibration work. *
· Professional presentation in front of customers. *
· Attends all company and customer training events as instructed by the Logistics Department. *
· Performs compliance testing. *
· Performs light office duties and additional research as required. *
· Cross-trains in multiple business lines related to UTSS Rigging and Service Division and other systems of equipment to support UTSS business needs*
· This work will require the support of technicians on an on-call basis to be scheduled regularly*
*Essential Functions
Required Skills:
· Exceptional Mechanical and Technical Ability
· Using basic hand-tools
· Operating Drills, Saws
· Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
· Reading Tape Measure, Electrical Meters (multimeter and voltage meter)
· Reading and Comprehending Site Prints, Blueprints, and Electrical Diagrams
· Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, design software (CAD) preferred, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, internet research, and basic typing skills, as well as, a general knowledge and proficiency at learning new software programs quickly.
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Prior experience in electrical mechanical or rigging field preferred
· Forklift experience preferred
· Employees must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for high level government clearance
Physical Requirements:
