What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rigger position at Wagstaff Crane Service?

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved
Setting, aligning, and leveling heavy equipment machinery
Selecting the appropriate rigging gear
Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts
Signal for crane operator
Inspecting rigging before final use
Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment
Maneuvering loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand
Communicating with the rigging and construction team
Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections
Pull, lift, and handle wire rope slings and shackles
Load and unload heavy equipment
Climb ladders and similar structures
All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license
General knowledge of construction equipment and heavy machinery
General knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Loading, unloading, and securing heavy loads and/or equipment, 1 year preferred
Physical fitness and ability to lift 80 pounds
Ability to work at heights and noisy environments
Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
Basic mathematical skills
Punctual and willing to take directions
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug and alcohol test
Must pass pre-employment MVR check
Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States
High school diploma or GED
Must be 18 years of age
SCHEDULE:
8-12 hour shift
Monday-Friday
Occasional weekends
