Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Complete patient registration and verify demographic, insurance, and billing information.
- Obtain required patient forms, consents, and documentation.
- Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in and check-out activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Direct calls to the appropriate department or individual.
- Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, registration, and general inquiries.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve patient concerns in a timely manner.
- Collect patient payments and issue receipts as appropriate.
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately into the practice management system.
- Assist with daily balancing and reconciliation of payment transactions.
- Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records.
- Process medical records requests in accordance with facility policies and HIPAA guidelines.
- Scan, file, and distribute clinical documentation accurately and timely.
- Ensure medical records are complete and accessible for patient care and regulatory compliance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare office, medical reception, patient registration, medical records, billing, or related healthcare setting.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
