As a Leadman for our facility in the Kittery, Maine area, you will be responsible for assisting the Foreman in assigning employee tasks onboard U.S. Navy vessels. Duties and Responsibilities
• Recognizes, addresses, and resolves conflicts between employees.
• Conduct daily detailed material condition inspections of all barges both in and out of service.
• Conducts daily walkthrough inspections on employees’ work progress and workmanship.
• Oversees the execution of the work, including quality and production, ensuring that the crew work to job specifications.
• Ensures employee compliance with customer and company policies/procedures.
• Follows program schedules and ensures that employees perform daily and weekly activities to meet production goals.
• Supports and facilitates teamwork and harmony between all employees by promoting and fostering a positive, visible teamwork attitude among all crew members.
• Inspects completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Maintains work standards and outlines expectations to ensure employee morale and productivity.
• Maintains and enforces OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Maintains a work file Current Ship’s Maintenance Program (CSMP) for each barge.
• Effectively communicates either orally and/or in writing with all levels of customer representatives, sub-contractors, and vendors.
• Complete and submit daily work log including crew hours and job charge codes.
• Must be located on site at each location in their designated workspace.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years’ related ship repair work experience.
Qualifications:
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and other technical data and in sequencing work appropriately to eliminate repeating work efforts.
• Experience in testing, troubleshooting, and inspecting installed equipment and systems.
• Familiar with Federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.

The physical job requirement involves, but is not limited to, walking, reaching, bending-over, concentration in the presence of noise, lifting items up to 50 lbs., and traversing narrow passageways, climbing ladders/stairs, and operating in confined spaces onboard naval vessels, barges, and in buildings.
