Key Tasks
- Operate and apply basic hand tools, pneumatic equipment, gauges, oxygen lances, power-actuated tools, and torches.
- Load, move, and process materials and finished product throughout the mill.
- Assist with equipment inspections and routine maintenance activities.
- Work safely around hot, heavy, or sharp materials and hazardous chemicals.
- Perform physical tasks, including lifting over 25 lbs.
- Work in multiple mill areas with conditions that can be hot, cold, wet, greasy, dirty, and noisy; some tasks may be near molten metal.
- Operate designated mobile equipment in a heavy industrial setting.
- Rotating 8-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Overtime required as business needs dictate.
- Always follow safety procedures and guidelines.
- Use PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and metatarsal boots; respirator when required.
