Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester seeks an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Special Assistant to serve in her Wilmington, Delaware office. The Special Assistant will serve as the Senator’s driver in Delaware, responsible for taking the Senator to events and meetings throughout the state, staffing the Senator at various events, and handling other special projects as needs arise. The Special Assistant will report to the State Scheduler and work in coordination with the State Director, New Castle County Director, and Kent/Sussex County Director to ensure the Senator's schedule runs smoothly. The Special Assistant will also photograph the Senator at official events (iPhone and professional camera) for digital use. Candidates for this role should demonstrate a basic understanding of event photography including use of a mirrorless camera and basic light and color editing. Applicants must be able to work well in a team environment and exercise discretion. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and have tangible experience multi-tasking and consistently meeting deadlines. This is a fast paced, dynamic role that requires strong problem solving and adaptability. The Special Assistant must have a deep understanding of Delaware and its geography, have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, and should expect to work extended and unscheduled hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. Access to a vehicle is required. Salary commensurate with experience.
