What are the responsibilities and job description for the Casework Manager position at United States Senate?
Senator Andy Kim seeks a Casework Manager to help resolve issues with federal agencies on behalf of constituents. The Casework Manager acts as a senior liaison to assess problems and find solutions in a professional manner, screen and refer cases, as appropriate, and represents the Senator and the office. The Casework Manager will work closely with the Constituent Services Director and maintain up to date knowledge on agencies.
Ideal candidates will have multiple years of experience managing casework, be exceptionally well-organized and attentive to detail, be able to adhere to established casework processes, have strong oral and written communication skills, excel at time management, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and be able to maintain good working relationships with the Senator, staff and constituents. An even temperament, ability to deal effectively with a wide range of personalities, and creative problem-solving skills are essential.
This is a hybrid position with some in-person work required out of our Barrington, NJ or Jersey City, NJ office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact with constituents via phone, email and in person;
- Establish, follow through and complete constituent casework;
- Keep accurate and complete case notes and alerts at all times;
- Interact with assigned federal agencies;
- Interact with local, county and state offices to make and accept referrals;
- Establish efficient processes to handle common issues and problems;
- Cross-train and accept changing areas of focus as needed;
- Develop educational materials and resources for constituents;
- Guide and assist other caseworkers as needed;
- Manage community casework initiatives. Includes but not limited to mobile office hours and resource fairs; and
- Assist Constituent Services Director in operation of casework team.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years casework experience;
- Time spent in a customer service role;
- Work with federal, state or local government;
- Experience with casework IQ program is a plus; and
- Bilingualism is a plus.
