Duties
- Safely load, unload, and organize packages, ensuring accurate delivery to assigned addresses along rural routes
- Drive various vehicle types including box trucks and courier vehicles with manual transmissions, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Load and secure shipments using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary, ensuring proper handling of heavy or bulky items
- Navigate route driving efficiently, adjusting for weather or road conditions to meet delivery schedules
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting recipients professionally, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction during each delivery
- Collect signatures or proof of delivery when required, maintaining detailed logs of completed deliveries and route activities
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and operational readiness
Experience
- Previous experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations is highly desirable
- Familiarity with commercial driving, including operating box trucks or similar vehicles with manual transmissions
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy packages repeatedly and perform physical tasks such as moving items using forklifts or pallet jacks
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude toward assisting residents and clients
- Experience in route driving or navigation within rural areas preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not required
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently, and stay organized throughout the day
