What are the responsibilities and job description for the GUEST EXPERIENCE TEAM MEMBER position at UNITED STATES OLYMPIC & PARALYMPIC MUSEUM?
Our Guest Experience Team Members are integral members of our team, serving as the dedicated point-of-contact for ensuring an exceptional visitor experience at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum, and associated events. As passionate and energetic individuals, they embody the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, contributing to the overall success of our mission. Our Team Members are known for their friendly and attentive approach, showcasing a genuine love for creating lasting memories for our guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Entry Experience
- Provide a warm welcome and positive first impression for all guests
- Assist guests with accessibility needs
- Provide general information about the Museum, including ticket prices
- Direct guests through ticketing and registration queues
- Promote a safe and welcoming environment
Ticketing
- Sell tickets, tours, and process vouchers using the Museum’s point-of-sale ticketing system
- Redeem will-call tickets for advanced purchasers
- Provide Membership information and process Membership sales
- Issue RFID credentials and lanyards
- Prepare Group Tickets as needed
Galleries and Exhibits
- Assist guests with RFID registration and tour preference selection
- Provide an orientation to the Museum’s visitor experience
- Lead and manage guided tour experiences for guests if chosen upon certification,
- Provide a personal presence in exhibit areas focusing on guest interaction, engagement, and storytelling
- Make genuine connections with visitors and enhance the guest experience whenever possible
- Handle guest service recovery as required, acting as a guest advocate
Groups
- Assist Group tours with bus unloading/loading and building ingress/egress
- Provide a warm welcome and orientation to the building for Groups
- Distribute RFID credentials and lanyards to Groups upon arrival
Events
- Staff exhibit areas during private events, focusing on guest interaction, engagement, and storytelling
- Assist with event ingress/egress
Qualifications:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must exhibit an enthusiastic, outgoing, and friendly attitude and enjoy working with the public
- Must work well in a fast-paced environment, and understand how to prioritize guest needs
- Display genuine care for others, be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in hospitality, visitor attractions, sports, or cultural institutions preferred
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with others; demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in admissions and ticketing is a bonus
- Fluent in any second language
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Certain positions remain standing for approximately 5-7 hours a day. Note: Some Ticketing positions may be seated.
- Stoops, bends, reaches, and lifts occasionally throughout the day.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to work outside. Note: Some Ticketing positions are outside when the weather accommodates.
- Works under a moderate degree of stress.
