Officer Programs


College Graduates (Officer Candidates Course - OCC)


College graduates attend a 10-week Officer Candidates Course in Quantico, Virginia.

You'll be evaluated on:

  • Leadership
  • Physical fitness
  • Decision making
  • Mental resilience
  • Ethical judgment

Graduation from OCC qualifies you to continue toward earning a commission as a United States Marine Officer.


Current College Students (Platoon Leaders Class - PLC)

Earn your commission without interrupting your education.


PLC allows full-time college students to attend Officer Candidates School during the summer while returning to campus each fall.


Program options include paid:

  • Two 6-week summer sessions
  • One 10-week summer session


Eligible students may also qualify for tuition assistance while completing their degree.


Law Students & Attorneys (Marine Judge Advocate Program)

Lead Marines while practicing law from day one.


Marine Judge Advocates immediately gain meaningful courtroom experience in areas including:

  • Criminal Law
  • Civil Litigation
  • Trial Advocacy
  • Operational Law
  • International Law
  • Legal Assistance


Additional benefits include financial assistance during law school, bar preparation assistance, and opportunities for fully funded graduate legal education.

The Marine Corps is the only military branch that guarantees aviation contracts before Officer Candidates School for qualified applicants.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing one for PLC)
  • Physically fit or willing to become fit
  • Strong moral character
  • Able to meet Marine Corps commissioning standards.
