The Buyer (under the direction of the Supply Chain Supervisor) supports materials acquisition efforts. Key responsibilities of this position are the generation of POs, proper receipt and inventory of materials, and establishment of strong vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Place purchase orders in a timely manner to meet Hewes Marine Company standards
- Review reports to identify potential material shortages/overages.
- Adhere to purchasing/receiving guidelines and policies.
- Submit purchase orders and obtain computer-generated order confirmations.
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships.
- Investigate what/how/why materials arrive incorrectly and/or damaged and resolve these issues with vendors.
- Process order requisitions from all departments.
- Achieve and maintain safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Self-directed with excellent time-management skills
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Communication, organization, and problem-solving
- High regard for safety, and excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Compensation:
- This position is a full-time, hourly position within Hewes Marine Company
- Work schedule Monday – Friday
- Some overtime and weekend work are required.
- Wage Range: $ 25.00 to $ 28.50 per hour, DOE
- Excellent Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, accrued paid leave, and 401K.
