Overview:As an Interior Electrician, you'll install, maintain, and safely distribute electricity, the driving force behind today’s Army. You'll test equipment and fix any short circuits in wires and faulty equipment, and you'll learn to read blueprints and wire plans to determine layouts and repairs. Job Duties:
- Install transformers, junction boxes, circuit breakers, service panels, switches, electrical boxes, and lightning rods.
- Read blueprints, wire plans, and repair orders to determine layouts/repairs.
- Test equipment for the operational conduction of circuits.
- Inspect power distribution systems, shorts in wires, and faulty equipment.
- Repair and replace faulty wiring and lighting fixtures.
- Be between the ages of 17– 40.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Submit to background and medical screening
- Receive a passing score on the ASVAB
- Fundamentals of electricity
- Electrical circuit troubleshooting
- Safety procedures
- Techniques for wiring switches, and outlets. and junction boxes
- Interest in electricity, science, and math.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Preference for doing physical work.
