Maintenance Mechanic

United States Antimony Corporation (“USAC”), is a publicly traded (NYSE: UAMY), rapidly growing natural resource company that is vertically integrated and building a fully domestic antimony supply chain. Antimony is critical to US defense, used in bullet lead, primers, optics, and military electronics. It is also a critical ingredient in flame resistant plastics and fabrics, and has many other uses. USAC has produced various antimony products since 1969 and is a fully integrated mining, transportation, milling, smelting, and selling company. USAC operates the only significant antimony production facility in the United States and it is in a “sold out” condition.

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5 days a week.

Available shifts: Day (8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.), Swing (4:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m.), and Grave (12:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m.). Swing shift receives $0.50 above base pay; Grave receives $1.00 above base pay.

Position Summary:
Responsible for performing mechanical repairs, welding, fabrication, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, including furnaces, bag houses, conveyors, forklifts, and other production and mobile machinery. The role supports continuous, safe, and reliable plant operations in a dusty industrial environment. Prior mechanical experience is preferred; additional training will be provided as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Always work safely and maintain all tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition.
• Inspect equipment, tools, and work areas before starting work and complete required paperwork and maintenance logs.
• Perform mechanical repairs on furnaces, bag houses, crushing/screening equipment, conveyors, forklifts, and other plant and mobile equipment.
• Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to repair, modify, or build components as needed.
• Lubricate equipment according to schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
• Execute preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, replace worn or damaged parts, and restore equipment to proper working order.
• Assist with installation, alignment, and setup of new or repaired equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly shop, parts area, and work zones; clean up spills and scrap materials every shift.
• Support production operators with equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed.
• Complete all daily maintenance documents, work orders, and inventory records accurately.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator when mandated.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Requirements:

• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Able to lift 50 lbs to 55.1 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier components.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and technical manuals.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Able to perform basic math, read blueprints/schematics, and accurately complete paperwork.
• Self-sufficient, self-starting, and prompt.
• Comfortable working in a dusty, dirty, and sometimes hot industrial environment.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical experience in an industrial, manufacturing, mining, or plant setting preferred.
• Welding and fabrication skills required or strongly preferred.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and lubrication systems is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.
• Must be organized, self-motivated, with a can-do attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize repairs, and adapt to changing production needs.
• Valid driver’s license preferred for operating plant vehicles or forklifts.

The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and work in confined spaces, and must be able to smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50–55.1 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move heavier parts or equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role requires the ability to wear a respirator and other PPE for extended periods.

This is an industrial plant and shop environment that is frequently dusty and dirty. The employee is regularly exposed to furnace heat, airborne particles, welding fumes, grease, oil, and outside weather conditions when working in or moving between plant areas. The employee may encounter moving mechanical parts, vibration, extreme heat or cold, and moderate to high noise levels. Work occurs around active production equipment and in a maintenance shop; proper PPE, including a respirator, welding gear, and hearing protection, is required.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
