Special Education Teacher - Grades 1-6 - Leave CoverageUnited Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry, is representing a private special education school in New Rochelle that is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a temporary medical leave coverage assignment teaching grades 1-6. This is a temporary assignment beginning immediately through the end of the school year.Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–2:30pmTwo staff meetings per month until 3:30pmPay Rate: $41.50-$47.50/hour (depending on experience)Location: Conveniently located in New Rochelle, just a 5–10 minute walk from Metro North. Parking lot and street parking are also available.Class Size: 12–15 studentsResponsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:Developing and delivering engaging science lessons aligned with NYS standardsModifying curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students with special needsCreating and maintaining a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environmentCollaborating with colleagues, therapists, and support staff to implement IEPs effectivelyAssessing student progress and providing ongoing communication with parents/guardiansParticipating in staff meetings, professional development, and school eventsRequirements for the Special Education Teacher:Bachelor’s or Master’s degreeNYS Teacher Certification (Special Education and/or Science preferred)Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience working with special needs children in a special education settingStrong classroom management and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamAbility to provide 2-3 references from former employers, teachers or professional sourcesJoin a dedicated team making a difference every day.
