Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing medication inventories, and providing exceptional patient service within a fast-paced LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy environment. Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, following all safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Assist with medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring proper documentation for LTC pharmacy records.
- Manage inventory levels by ordering, receiving, storing, and organizing pharmaceuticals to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Support patient care activities by providing medication information and answering questions related to prescriptions and therapy plans.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards during medication preparation and documentation.
- Maintain meticulous records of medication administration, inventory logs, and incident reports to support quality assurance initiatives.

EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years of experience in a related field; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination Long Term Care experience Preferred and a plus
- PIONEER software preferred and a plus.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Sitting and/or standing for up to 8 hours/day. Having a range of motion from kneeling, to bending over to raising arms above head to retrieve stock
- Lifting and/or carrying up to 15 pounds
- Reading fine and/or small print
- Working off a computer screen for up to 8 hours/day
WORK STATUS: Full-time(40hrs a week) Monday-Friday 9a-5:30p
- Saturday 10am-2p (Once per month)
- Customer service (i.e, receiving and processing order requests)
- Daily fill including controlled substances
- Prescription fulfillment (i.e., various packaging, Vials, Blisters, TCG, Dosis, )
- Staging items for delivery
- Answering phones and processing refills
- Other duties inherent to pharmacy operations, as assigned
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; active MI state licensure required.
- Proven experience working in LTC pharmacy settings or hospital environments with exposure to acute care or critical care units.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient service with compassionate communication skills.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for intake processing and inventory management.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
