Social Rehabilitation Counselor – Young Adult Services Program (YAS) Part-time

United Services has a part-time opportunity where the right candidate will work with the community support staff in our Young Adult Services Program. The Social Rehabilitation Counselor will provide vocational services for young adults, ages 18-25, who have a diagnosed mental illness and need community-based support services in the Willimantic area. If you have knowledge and experience with substance abuse or community support services for young adults and an understanding of the developmental issues of this population, the Social Rehabilitation Counselor position may be just right for you.

What You Will Do:

• Provide vocational and community support services to young adults ages 18-25 with diagnosed mental illness.
• Assist individuals in developing independent living, social, employment, and wellness skills.
• Support participants in accessing community resources and achieving individualized goals.
• Collaborate with community support staff and treatment team members to coordinate services.
• Promote recovery-oriented and person-centered approaches to care.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant human services field or Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years relevant experience. Experience working with young adult population preferred.

Schedule: Part-time (21 hours per week)

• Monday 12:30 p.m.-5:30p.m. and Friday – Saturday 12:30p.m.-9:00p.m.

A flexible schedule is required and may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Social Rehabilitation Counselor Salary Range: $19.00- $21.50 per hour (depending on experience). Bilingual Spanish/English Fluency $19.96-$22.59 per hour (depending on experience).

Work Location: Because our clients rely on face-to-face support to build trust, this position requires employees to be fully present in the office and community depending on the position.
