What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President - Sales position at UNITED PETROLEUM TRANSPORTS INC?
The Vice President - Sales will be responsible for driving and increasing revenue to the company's bottom line.
What a day looks like as a Vice President - Sales:
- Work closely with the Senior Vice President and Executive Team to accomplish the goals and objectives and strategic plan
- Develops the annual sales/marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve system and goals
- Oversees and provides direction to market and competitor analysis
- Provides leadership, direction and management of the market research function
- Creates a sales reporting function that can track, measure and analyze the sales team performance
- Ensures all marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources
- Provides sales/marketing skills and expertise to the Company by building, developing and managing a sales team capable of carrying out of the necessary sales/marketing strategies and tactics
- Represent the Company to customers, the public and local and national Associations
- Provide direction, guidance and counseling to the Business Development Managers using a hands-on approach
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Senior Vice President.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Business Degree preferred
- 10-15 yrs. of overall sales experience required
- 3 yrs. of Trucking sales experienced required
- Long-haul freight experience preferred
- Direct account management experience preferred
- Transportation Operations knowledge a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of bulk liquids and the regulations that follow
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standards
- Knowledge of pricing lanes
- Candidate must be available to travel up to 50%
- Ideal candidate would possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to lead people and get results through others
- Ability to analyze and problem solve at both a strategic and functional level.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Self-starter with detail oriented work habits
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising.

Physical Requirements:
