The Vice President - Sales will be responsible for driving and increasing revenue to the company's bottom line.

 

What a day looks like as a Vice President - Sales:

 

  • Work closely with the Senior Vice President and Executive Team to accomplish the goals and objectives and strategic plan
  • Develops the annual sales/marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve system and goals
  • Oversees and provides direction to market and competitor analysis
  • Provides leadership, direction and management of the market research function
  • Creates a sales reporting function that can track, measure and analyze the sales team performance
  • Ensures all marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources
  • Provides sales/marketing skills and expertise to the Company by building, developing and managing a sales team capable of carrying out of the necessary sales/marketing strategies and tactics
  • Represent the Company to customers, the public and local and national Associations
  • Provide direction, guidance and counseling to the Business Development Managers using a hands-on approach

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 

  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Senior Vice President.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Business Degree preferred
  • 10-15 yrs. of overall sales experience required
  • 3 yrs. of Trucking sales experienced required
  • Long-haul freight experience preferred
  • Direct account management experience preferred
  • Transportation Operations knowledge a plus

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.  This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of bulk liquids and the regulations that follow
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standards
  • Knowledge of pricing lanes
  • Candidate must be available to travel up to 50% 
  • Ideal candidate would possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Self-starter with detail oriented work habits
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising.
  • Display professional demeanor
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with wide range of individuals
  • Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of basic company employment policies and procedures

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual activity
  • Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds)

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Normal office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copier/printer/scanners.
  • Will be required to travel up to 50%
