Job Title: Director, Teaching and Learning Center (TLC)Department: Scholarship and ProgramsReports To: Vice President, Scholarship and ProgramsFLSA Status: Exempt Band: D1 JOB DESCRIPTION The Director for the Teaching and Learning Center will be responsible for effectively managing multiple programs and initiatives. They will work with the Vice President of Scholarships and Programs (VPSP) to develop innovative strategies for academic and professional development programs for UNCF member institutions, HBCUs, and UNCF itself. They will also engage with consultants to coordinate UNCF member institution needs and offer guidance and recommendations for paths forward.ABOUT UNCF The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) has been an engine of educational achievement for more than 80 years. UNCF is committed to closing the educational attainment gap by increasing postsecondary access and success for student groups, particularly low-income and first-generation students.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Assist with the general management and administration of programs within the UNCF TLC system Manage the day-to-day activities of support staff Plan, organize, direct, manage and coordinate the operations within the assigned program Oversee program/s and supervise staff in the assigned program area Establish priorities, goals, and objectives consistent with department policies and procedures Assist in the initiation and management of policies and procedures appropriate to the administration of all contracts Participate in the preparation and monitoring of program budgets, work plans, and other administrative and fiscal functions Determine goals and objectives; review and analyze project budgets Assist the VPSP in identifying prospective grants and donors that support the work and mission of TLC/UNCFParticipate in writing donor reports and grant proposals Carry out supervisory responsibility in accordance with policies and procedures including planning, assigning, and directing work, and appraising performance Ensure program compliance with donor requirements, and coordinate program activities with other organizations Other duties may be assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Director will provide oversight to team members at the Relationship Manager (RM) and/or Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) levels, who support the management and operations of programs in their portfolio. In addition, the Director will oversee the Program Coordinator(s), who will perform administrative support. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and at least 8 years of work experience with 3 years in program management. Experience in curriculum design, instructional technology, and research design is a plus; Master’s degree preferred.
