Reports to: Controller
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, the Accounting Assistant provides routine financial, administrative, and clerical support to the Bank. This position helps maintain the reliability and accuracy of accounting data by following established daily and monthly procedures and adhering to internal controls designed to safeguard the Bank's assets. The Accounting Assistant supports the accounting team by processing transactions, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with Bank policies and accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
- Transaction Processing: Recording daily financial transactions, including cash deposits and SBA online payments.
- Reconciliation: Prepares general ledger reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Assists with processing invoices, verifying vendor information, and managing payment cycles when needed.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in Accounting or a related field; or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Skills/Abilities:
- General Accounting knowledge through course work or experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
