🕒 Schedule: Three (3) shifts per calendar month | Regularly covering weekend shifts is expected | Two (2) holidays per year.
🏢 Department: Kresge Health & Rehab Center | Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living | Chelsea Retirement Community | Chelsea, MI
🎯 What You’ll Do in This Role:
The Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency impairments as part of in-house rehab services in SNF, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Independent Living.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs hearing and/or speech and language examinations.
- Evaluates hearing and /or speech and language test results.
- Evaluates barium swallow, other test results, and overall medical background.
- Diagnoses patients and formulates treatment plans.
- Educate patients and family members about the various communication methods to cope with impairment.
- Writes reports and maintains client information.
- Performs administrative responsibilities: coordinates paperwork, writes lesson plans, schedules case management activities, and performs record-keeping for administrative, billing and caseload purposes.
- Develops individual and/or group activities and/or programs.
- Participates in the planning and implementing of individualized educational planning (IEP) meetings, in-service meetings, or intervention assistance team meetings.
✅ What You’ll Need:
- Graduate of an accredited Therapy program
- Current Speech Therapist state license
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Position requires the ability to lift and move objects, weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance
- 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
