We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Powered Industrial Truck (forklift, scissor lift, and powered pallet jack) Trainer to ensure our Powered Industrial Truck operators are trained to the highest standards and also to provide support to various safety programs.

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Safety Manager to take complete ownership of our safety program. In this role, you will not just enforce compliance; you will design the future of safety at our company. From conducting hazard assessments on the welding line to integrating "Safety-by-Design" principles into our newest production layouts, you will be the primary driver of our safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Culture
• Safety Vision: Provide vision for the future of the company’s safety program, ensuring proactive hazard prevention.

Training & Engagement

• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the HR and Employee Development Teams to design, author, and implement engaging, role-specific safety training materials.
• Safety Series Leadership: Spearhead and drive our week-long safety series of morning meetings in partnership with the Employee Development Team, ensuring high-impact messaging that keeps safety top-of-mind across the entire organization.

Risk Mitigation & Incident Management

• Hierarchy of Controls: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and execute Hierarchy of Controls analyses to eliminate or engineer out hazards associated with high-risk activities.
• Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause investigations for all near-miss reports and injuries, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
• New Line Development: Partner with engineering and operations teams during the development of new production lines to ensure safety, ergonomics, and compliance are built-in from day one and on an ongoing basis.

Auditing & Compliance

• OSHA Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for any OSHA inquiries, inspections, or requests, ensuring strict regulatory compliance and timely resolution of any findings.
• Site Inspections: Design and dictate the schedule for what must be inspected and how frequently across all our buildings.
• Auditing: Conduct comprehensive building safety audits and targeted Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) audits on the active production lines.
• Process Specific Oversight: Monitor and mitigate risks specific to sheet metal fabrication, welding, powder coating, and electrical termination/testing.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated safety leadership experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), or OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification is highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of OSHA General Industry standards (29 CFR 1910), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and hazardous materials management.
• Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and the ability to influence and lead without direct authority.
• Committee Leadership: Chair and facilitate the monthly Safety Committee meeting (multiple cross-functional members), driving engagement and actionable safety initiatives.
• Program Development: Manage, review, and continuously update company EHS policies to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory standards.
