Job Summary
The Resident Services Coordinator supports low-income senior residents across six properties in Arlington and Bellingham, WA. This role connects residents with local programs and benefits, organizes on-site activities, responds to requests via office hours and hotline, and advocates for needs such as food security, healthcare, and social engagement. The position involves tracking grant-funded activities, collaborating with Chisom Housing Group leadership, and maintaining strong community partnerships to enhance resident well-being.
Duties
- Connect residents with local organizations, programs, and benefits
- Respond to resident requests during office hours and via hotline
- Organize and facilitate on-site programs and presentations
- Advocate for residents’ needs, including food security, healthcare access, and social engagement
- Collect and maintain data on resident needs and goals
- Track and report activities for grant compliance
- Collaborate with Chisom Housing Group leadership and property management staff
- Travel between properties in Arlington and Bellingham as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or GED Certificate.
- In process or completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required. A degree in social work, public policy, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Interest and/or background in community service, affordable housing, policy development and/or social services programming preferred.
- Driver’s license and willingness and ability to travel domestically required. (Less than 20% of position).
- Organized and independent worker with strong communication skills.
- Computer literacy and comfort with basic programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Social Media experience and/or willingness to learn and develop.
- Public speaking and/or presentation skills with an interest in further development.
- Experience working with diverse populations, low to moderate-income families, people with mental health, substance abuse, disabilities, legal issues, and older adults.
- The pay scale will be commensurate with experience and level of education.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs (lifting is generally related to food programs)
- Must be willing to travel from various sites in Washington
- Responsible to set up and clean up facilities utilized for events with occasional lifting, bending, and pushing
