Recreation Aide

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to residents with dementia
• Foster resident engagement by encouraging participation in activities aligned with individual interests and abilities
• Transport and assist residents to and from activities as needed
• Develop familiarity with residents’ backgrounds, preferences, and needs
• Create and maintain monthly activity calendars and newsletters
• Maintain accurate attendance records and resident documentation (photo releases, family contacts, etc.)
• Coordinate special events, community programs, and volunteer initiatives
• Collaborate with Culinary Services for events involving food or refreshments
• Communicate upcoming events to all departments in a timely manner
• Encourage family, staff, volunteer, and community involvement
• Attend community seminars and educational programs as required
• Ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Memory Care or Administration
