About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our plastics manufacturing team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting functions, and assisting with inventory tracking and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain the general ledger, including preparation, verification, and control of all accounting entries.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for company accounts.
- Verify cash deposits, cleared checks, and bank transactions.
- Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) schedules.
- Provide supporting documentation and explanations for financial records and procedures.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and accounting files.
- Ensure all financial activities are recorded accurately and timely.
Inventory & Administrative Support
- Maintain inventory records for resin materials and assist with inventory tracking.
- Work closely with business units and provide support to accounting staff.
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
- Maintain organized files and records.
- Assist with general administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
Operational Excellence
- Meet established deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Assist in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies.
- Support continuous improvement efforts within accounting and administrative processes.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- QuickBooks experience required.
- Strong knowledge of manual accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of standard accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
