Director of Manufacturing | Concrete Pavers | Multi-Plant Operations
Lead production, maintenance, capital projects, and quality across 3 to 4 concrete paver plants. Big board paver experience is required.
REQUIRED: Hands-on concrete paver manufacturing experience, or experience in closely related concrete products (segmental retaining wall, concrete block, hardscape units). Applicants without this background will not be considered.
About the Director of Manufacturing Role
A concrete paver and hardscape products manufacturer is hiring a Director of Manufacturing to run plant operations across 3 to 4 production sites. You will own output, equipment performance, maintenance, capex, and product quality.
This is a hands-on operations leadership job. You will spend your time on the plant floor, working with plant managers, maintenance teams, and production crews to keep big board paver lines running at target.
What You Will Do
Production and Plant Operations
- Direct daily production across 3 to 4 manufacturing plants and hold plant managers accountable for output, yield, and cost per unit.
- Standardize production methods, mix designs, and safety practices across sites.
Machinery and Maintenance
- Own equipment performance and uptime on big board paver lines, including molds, batching, curing, cubing, and packaging.
- Run preventive and predictive maintenance programs and manage spare parts.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical or controls problems alongside the team.
Capital Projects (CapEx)
- Plan, justify, and deliver equipment upgrades, line improvements, and new installations from budget through commissioning.
Quality
- Drive consistent product quality to ASTM and customer specifications, and cut scrap and rework.
Leadership and Safety
- Develop plant managers, production supervisors, and maintenance leaders.
- Manage manufacturing budgets and report results to executive leadership.
- Maintain OSHA and environmental compliance and a strong safety culture at every plant.
Required Qualifications
- Concrete paver or related concrete products manufacturing experience (mandatory).
- Strong big board paver plant experience.
- Technically savvy and hands-on with production equipment and plant machinery.
- Senior production leadership experience, ideally over multiple plants or multiple plant managers.
- Experience with capital projects, maintenance programs, and quality systems in manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma certification or training.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, industrial technology, or a related field.
- Bilingual- English and Spanish.
Travel
Some travel between manufacturing sites is required. The role is plant-based with regular time in production areas.
