What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at United Employment Group, Inc.?
- Lead quality assurance activities for extrusion presses, fabrication, machining, and finishing operations
- Develop and maintain control plans, inspection standards, and SPC monitoring
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive actions (5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC)
- Support die design reviews, extrusion trials, and recipe optimization
- Support of the ISO 9001 system as well as internal audits.
- Perform dimensional inspections, mechanical testing, and metallurgical evaluations
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to improve process stability and reduce scrap
- Manage nonconformance investigations and customer complaint resolution
- Maintain compliance with ISO standards and customer specifications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, yield, and press performance
- Utilize MES systems (e.g., EPICS) for data analysis, downtime tracking, and quality reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or 2 to 5 years in quality engineering field.
- 3 years of experience in aluminum extrusion or metals manufacturing (preferred)
- Proficiency in GD&T, blueprint reading, and tolerance analysis
- Experience with machining, fabrication, and finishing processes
- Familiarity with SPC, capability studies, and quality tools
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
