Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and state safety regulations.
  • Coach and assist the operational team leaders in conducting site inspections, incident reporting and investigations, hazard assessments, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning.
  • Maintain compliance with EPA, state, and local environmental requirements.
  • Oversee air, water, and waste permits, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Manage records and interactions with environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve site EHS policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Deliver training to employees and supervisors on safety practices, hazard recognition, and environmental responsibilities.
  • Champion a “safety-first” culture focused on prevention and risk reduction.
  • Promote employee involvement in EHS programs through communication, recognition, and participation in safety committees.
  • Serve as a visible leader and role model in safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Oversee the Site Security Department, including management of a 3rd-party contractor.
  • Ensure 24/7 security coverage across multiple site locations.
  • Coordinate security operations, contractor performance, and site access control.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure site security programs align with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Success Measures

  • Zero citations or fines from OSHA, EPA, or state agencies.
  • Reduction in recordable and maintain zero lost-time incidents, timely completion of incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • 100% completion of required EHS training for employees and contractors; positive feedback on training relevance and impact.
  • Internal and external audits demonstrate compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
  • High participation in safety programs, committees, and hazard reporting; measurable improvement in safety culture survey results.
  • EHS programs are integrated into daily operations with visible leadership support and accountability at all levels.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS management experience in manufacturing, foundry, or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience with incident investigations, audits, and compliance programs.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Skills, Knowledge and Work Environment:

  • Office setting; occasional visits to production areas required
  • Exposure to industrial equipment and processes; appropriate PPE provided as needed.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to drive cultural change and build accountability.
  • Solid understanding of EHS regulations, systems, and risk management.
  • Works effectively with employees, supervisors, regulators, and external stakeholders.

Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
