What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Coordinator position at United Electric Controls?
Purpose:
Review and coordinate kanban material in Production to ensure appropriate inventory levels and accuracy are attained, as well as review slow moving parts for awareness and dispositioning. Lead, assign, and direct daily materials activities as needed to meet company standards.
General Requirements for Inventory Coordinator:
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- 3-5 years related work experience.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Office applications such as Excel and Word.
- Ability to understand material control, inventory planning, and plant operations in a Lean manufacturing environment.
- Ability to train employees, lead team meetings, and solve daily materials problems.
- Ability to understand and perform all material movement and control functions.
- Strong oral, written, organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a team based environment and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Typical Responsibilities for Inventory Coordinator:
- Work with Production Control and Materials Management to understand conditions regarding lead time, the impact of inventory accuracy and part shortages, and kanban fulfillment issues.
- Review and communicate inventory issues to Managers as detected and make adjustments as needed with input from Materials and area Managers
- Coordinate, maintain, improve, and document the various kanban systems throughout UE Production, making recommendations on kanban quantity adjustments as needed.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain all data relating to kanban management, inventory accuracy, slow moving parts, using the ERP system and other software as appropriate.
- Train conveyance people in proper use of kanban systems as necessary.
- Perform cycle counts in production areas and resolve root causes of inaccuracies.
- Review slow moving inventory status and make recommendations on disposition working with Materials Management, Finance, and other UE departments as required.
- Participation in lean activities.
- Lead Tier I meetings with team members and participate in Tier II meeting as applicable.
- Lead material handling operations, as required.
- Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain safe working environment by following company safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements for Inventory Coordinator:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day.
- Ability to walk / stand up to 8 hours a day.
Supervision Received for Inventory Coordinator:
- Reports to Director of Materials
Pay: $26.60 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
