The Work
This is a warehouse-based position building out commercial door, frame, and hardware assemblies before they ship to the field. You'll hang hollow-metal doors in their frames, install hinges, closers, locksets, exit devices, and related hardware, and adjust each unit until it swings, latches, and seals the way the specs call for. The work runs off hardware schedules and door schedules, with completed assemblies staged, labeled, and prepped for delivery to project sites.
What You'll Do
- Assemble doors and frames square, plumb, and true, with correct clearances and reveals
- Install hinges, closers, locksets, exit devices, thresholds, and weatherstripping per the hardware schedule
- Test and adjust hardware to confirm proper operation before it leaves the warehouse
- Work from door and hardware schedules, shop drawings, and blueprints
- Stage, label, and prepare finished assemblies for shipment to the correct jobsite
- Keep the shop area clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements
- Coordinate with shop leadership on build priorities and shipping timelines
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience with commercial door hardware
- Working knowledge of hollow metal frames, door systems, and hardware specifications
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret hardware schedules
- Own hand tools and the ability to work through problems without hand-holding
- Reliable attendance and dependable transportation to the warehouse
- OSHA 10 or 30 a plus; formal hardware training or certification a plus
