What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dining Services Assistant PT Day Shift (Thornwald Home) position at United Church of Christ Homes?
Thornwald Home is currently accepting applications for two Part-Time Dining Services Assistant positions, working either 6am to 2pm or 7am to 11am.
The Dining Services Assistant provides help in all dining services functions as directed and instructed in accordance with established dining services policies and procedures, including:
- Serving meals in dining rooms and delivering trays, as instructed and in accordance with established portions and dietary restrictions and guidelines;
- Checking trays for appropriateness prior to distribution;
- Assisting with daily scheduled cleaning duties including surfaces, refrigerators, freezers, and floors;
- Preparing meal trays, food carts, dining rooms, etc. for meal service;
- Distributing and collecting resident menus;
- Delivering food service carts and trays to designated areas;
- Performing dishwashing and cleaning procedures;
- Preparing and delivering snacks;
- Assisting in preparation, set-up, service, and clean-up for special events and parties;
- Following established safety guidelines and providing a safety environment for residents and coworkers;
- Ensuring residents' right are protected; and,
- Working every-other weekend ($2/hour differential) and every-other holiday (Double-Time!).
