VOB Specialist (Bilingual)

Our team partners with mental health and substance use treatment facilities nationwide, ensuring accurate and timely verification of insurance benefits to support clients in accessing quality care.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:00pm

Position Summary:

The Verification of Benefits (VOB) Specialist is responsible for accurately verifying and documenting insurance coverage for behavioral health services. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish) and have experience handling verifications within the behavioral health treatment industry. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of verifications efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct insurance verifications for behavioral health and substance use treatment services, including PHP, IOP, RTC, Detox, and OP levels of care.
• Communicate directly with insurance carriers to obtain benefit information, coverage details, deductibles, copays, and out-of-pocket maximums.
• Accurately input benefit information into company systems and relay findings to clients and internal teams.
• Identify discrepancies or potential coverage issues and escalate them as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication to both English- and Spanish-speaking clients and staff.
• Collaborate with admissions and billing teams to ensure smooth and timely verification processes.

Qualifications:

• Required: Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience performing verifications of benefits in the behavioral health or healthcare billing field.
• Strong understanding of behavioral health levels of care and terminology.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR/billing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working for a behavioral health treatment center or billing company.
• Knowledge of major insurance providers and authorization processes.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
