United Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor to manage mortgage applications from initial application through closing. This role is responsible for reviewing and verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and bank policies, and working closely with loan officers, customers, underwriters, and third parties to deliver an exceptional mortgage experience.
What You'll Do
- Review and evaluate mortgage applications for completeness and accuracy
- Verify and analyze financial information, including credit reports, employment history, income documentation, and supporting loan documents
- Communicate with loan officers, customers, attorneys, appraisers, title companies, and other parties to gather information and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare loan files for underwriting and ensure all required documentation is collected and organized
- Monitor mortgage files throughout the process and provide regular status updates
- Ensure compliance with federal and state mortgage lending regulations
- Maintain accurate records of communications and loan documentation
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage process
- Build strong working relationships with customers, lenders, and internal partners
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of mortgage processing experience OR two years of banking and/or clerical experience
- Proficiency with mortgage processing systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Experience managing multiple mortgage files simultaneously
- Familiarity with escrow procedures, title insurance, and real estate transactions
