What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Inspector position at United Aero Group?
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects the maintenance, modification and upgrades on aircraft listed on the Repair Station Capability List
- Performs receiving inspections of all parts and materials.
- Performs internal audits of the company’s processes and procedures.
- Provides technical guidance to maintenance personnel performing aircraft maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector.
- Ensure all determinations supporting the creation of Certificate of Conformance are objective evidence-based, fully traceable, and auditable in accordance with regulatory and contract requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
· 5 years of previous helicopter mechanic experience preferred
· Knowledge of UH-60, UH-1, Bell 206/407, TH 47 aircraft preferred
· Writing and oral communication skills sufficient to prepare reports and to discuss equipment malfunction.
· Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, and technical publications are required.
· Must be able to move about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
· Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
· Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected.
· Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations.
· Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations are being performed
· Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected
· Ability to be a team player and take directions in a FAA Part 145 environment
· Ability to work overtime if required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· A&P Certificate required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Attention to detail, and ability to stand and work on top of aircraft, from ladders, and in confined areas for extended periods, both in and out of doors
· Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently, and to team lift 50 lbs.
