Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector III with aviation or aerospace experience to join our dynamic team. The Level III Quality Inspector functions as a senior technical resource within the Repair Station. This role performs advanced inspections, leads root-cause investigations, supports regulatory compliance at a higher level, and mentors lower-level inspectors, partnering closely with the QAM.
Responsibilities
- Lead internal audits, in-process assessments, and regulatory compliance checks.
- Perform full non-conformance investigations, root-cause analysis, and develop corrective actions.
- Prepare and present analytical quality reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to QAM and management.
- Interface with customers, corporate quality, and regulatory bodies to resolve quality issues.
- Oversee accuracy and currency of technical data systems.
- Lead change-management activities and evaluate process performance.
- Identify documentation/procedure gaps and recommend improvements.
- Oversee calibration program health and compliance with NIST requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex M&TE issues and train junior inspectors in proper use.
- Perform complex receiving, in-process, and final inspections requiring advanced technical judgment.
- Approve and validate inspection methods for composite repairs, materials, and assemblies.
- Lead teardown activities and advise on inspection strategy for atypical/high-risk parts.
- Mentor Level I and II inspectors on techniques, documentation, and quality standards.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of aviation or industrial inspection experience.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100/ISO quality systems (experience preferred).
- Demonstrated understanding of FAA 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station requirements (preferred).
- Proven experience with Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, SMS, and change management.
- Advanced technical background in composites, repair processes, and inspection methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills, professional judgment, and independent decision-making capability.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and database systems.
- Fluent English (reading and writing required).
Physical Requirements
- Moderate physical activity: ability to lift 70 lbs.
- Standing and/or walking for extended periods.
- Exposure to typical shop-floor conditions including dust, fumes, and noise.
