What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Quality Control Inspector position at AllSTEM Connections?
Position Overview
The Quality Control Inspector supports the Quality Control team and works closely with Production to ensure all precast concrete products meet established quality standards. This role partners with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist both the QC Technician and QC Manager with daily quality-related activities
- Review project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance throughout production
- Verify that products are manufactured in accordance with project requirements and industry standards
- Perform and validate stressing calculations to confirm accuracy
- Conduct pre-pour and post-pour inspections
- Confirm that materials (concrete, reinforcement, and other components) meet required specifications
- Maintain accurate daily quality control documentation and records
- Report any quality concerns or non-conformances to leadership
- Prepare and maintain logs, reports, and testing documentation
- Support training and development of QC Technicians
- Generate and distribute reports related to product defects
- Oversee and direct patching or repair activities as needed
- Inspect product loading to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
- Verify proper storage, including dunnage spacing and alignment of products
- Perform aggregate and concrete testing, including casting and breaking cylinders when required
- Inspect casting beds and participate in trial batches and mix design reviews
- Attend pre-construction meetings as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Additional QC-Specific Tasks
- Inspect steel forms to ensure they are in acceptable condition
- Monitor strand inventory levels
- Ensure proper product marking in designated areas
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of quality control processes and standards
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and occasionally demanding environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or
- Associate degree with related coursework and applicable experience
- Experience working with precast concrete tools and equipment is a plus
- ACI and/or PCI certifications are preferred (training provided if needed)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of hands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Combination of desk work and field/plant environment
- Exposure to noise, temperature changes, dust, fumes, and other environmental factors
- Work may involve heights, uneven surfaces, and operating equipment or controls
Supervision & Reporting
- May provide oversight to QC Technicians
- Reports directly to the QC Manager and Plant Manager
Schedule & Classification
- Full-time, exempt (salaried) position
- Primarily day shift, with flexibility based on production needs
- Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work required

Salary : $70,000 - $95,000
