Position Summary: The Director of Career Development is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring student and graduate career success across all Unitech Training Academy campuses. This individual will oversee the Career Development department, implement innovative strategies, and foster a culture where career readiness is embedded in every aspect of Unitech’s operations. The Director will collaborate closely with campus leadership, faculty, and employer partners to ensure students are prepared for the workforce and connected with meaningful employment opportunities
Job Description:
1. Strategic Leadership & Department Oversight
· Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of Career Development staff across campuses.
· Develop and execute a comprehensive career development strategy aligned with Unitech’s mission and workforce outcome objectives.
· Standardize career development processes, reporting structures, and success metrics.
· Monitor departmental KPIs, including graduate placement, employer satisfaction, and student engagement.
2. Career Development Culture & Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner with academic leadership to integrate career readiness and employability skills into curricula.
- Collaborate with Campus Presidents and Student Success teams to ensure a holistic approach to career planning.
- Support faculty in incorporating career-related activities, guest speakers, and employer projects into programs.
- Serve as a visible advocate for career development across the institution, influencing policy, program design, and student engagement strategies.
3. Employer & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with employers, industry associations, and workforce development partners.
- Develop partnerships that expand externship, internship, and employment opportunities for students and graduates.
· Represent Unitech at community, industry, and workforce events to enhance visibility and employer connections.
4. Student & Graduate Support
- Ensure consistent delivery of individualized career coaching, resume and interview preparation, and job search assistance.
- Oversee the development of resources, workshops, and tools to support student career readiness.
- Implement feedback loops from graduates and employers to continuously improve career services and academic offerings.
5. Labor Market & Data Strategy
- Use real-time labor data to identify credentialing priorities and skill gaps.
- Track and report on key outcomes such as wage increases, employer satisfaction, and alumni engagement.
- Maintain data dashboards and outcomes reports to inform decision-making across departments.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in Higher Education, Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in career services, workforce development, or employer relations, preferably in a postsecondary education setting.
· Demonstrated success in building employer partnerships and achieving measurable placement outcomes.
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
· Experience in data-driven decision-making and KPI management.
· Proven ability to lead change initiatives and embed a culture of career readiness across an organization.
· Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
