Precast Concrete Technician

Job Summary

Unit step manufactures and installs precast concrete steps iron and vinyl railings. We are seeking an individual who has worked in residential concrete or construction. Weekly we remove old existing steps and sidewalks, form up and pour a base for our step to sit and small sidewalks as needed. We pride ourselves in having great equipment to do as much of the hard work as possible. Unit step also manufactures concrete steps when the weather is NOT favorable to working outside, we produce product in our heated building. During the summer months we install concrete steps with iron and vinyl railings, During the off season product is produced in the shop.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and pouring of concrete for various structures, including foundations, sidewalks, and walls.
• Operate concrete mixers and pumps to ensure efficient mixing and delivery of concrete.
• Perform frame carpentry tasks as needed to support concrete structures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Assist with the transportation of materials to job sites using commercial driving skills when necessary.

Skills

• Proficiency in concrete techniques and equipment operation.
• Experience with frame carpentry and understanding of construction principles.
• Ability to operate a concrete mixer effectively.
• Valid commercial driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing joints effectively.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
